765. Deputy Sean Sherlock asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the number of politically appointed staff working in his Department including the names, roles and salaries of each staff member; in the case of special advisers, their qualifications and experience relevant to their roles; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In response to the Deputy’s question, political staff appointments are in progress and decisions regarding these appointments are imminent.

In accordance with the Ethics legislation, Ethics in Public Office Act 1995 and the Standards in Public Office Act 2001, information relating to staff appointed by me will be laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas upon their appointment.
