318. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Social Protection the procedure to be followed to apply for guardianship allowance in the case of a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23525/16]
Amharc ar fhreagraA decision on entitlement to guardian's payment can only be made following receipt of a completed application form by the Department of Social Protection. An application form for guardian's payment has been sent to the person concerned for completion.
On return, a Deciding Officer will examine the person's eligibility for the scheme and the person concerned will be notified of the outcome.
I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
