Clare Daly

Ceist:

186. Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his views on the fact that a person (details supplied) has held the role of CEO at the IAA for 13 years, despite the guidelines on contracts, remuneration and other conditions of chief executives and senior management of commercial state bodies stating that the term of office of a CEO of a commercial state body should be no more than seven years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The IAA CEO Mr. Eamonn Brennan was appointed to that position on 1st January 2003.  He was subsequently awarded a further contract in 2008 by the Board of the IAA. That contract operates on an annual rolling basis with a twelve month termination clause and continues to form the basis of Mr. Brennan's employment.
