1448. Deputy Peter Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the status of a forestry application submitted in August 2016 for a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1515/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraAn application for afforestation of the lands in question was received in my Department on behalf of the above named person. As part of the lands are within a Special Area of Conservation, a Natura Impact Statement was requested and this was subsequently supplied by the applicant's Registered Forester.
Following his review of the application and the site, the Inspector requested a report from the Department’s Ecologist. This report is awaited and a decision will be made on the application once received.
