1648. Deputy Joe Carey asked the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation the number of foreign direct investment, FDI, jobs in counties Clare and Limerick and in north Tipperary in the years 2014, 2015, 2016, in tabular form; the number of FDI jobs created and lost respectively in counties Clare and Limerick and in north Tipperary in the years 2014, 2015, 2016; and if she will make a statement on the matter. IDA Ireland’s Mid-West Region comprises Limerick, Clare and Tipperary North. All three counties have seen gains in FDI employment over each of the last three years. Total employment in IDA supported companies in the Mid-West at the end of 2016 stood at 17,143 people across 129 companies, up from 15,627 in 2015. Further details of jobs created, lost and total jobs are set out in the table below.
