788. Deputy Brendan Griffin asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs if funding is available to assist a commemorative event (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1559/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department is currently considering a proposal submitted by the organising committee in relation to this specific commemorative event. More broadly, consideration is also being given to how the 150th Anniversary of the 1867 Fenian Rising might be appropriately marked at home and internationally. My Department will consult with the Expert Advisory Group on Commemorations in this regard.
