Ceist:

180. Deputy James Browne asked the Minister for Education and Skills if he will consider purchasing the old St. Senan's Hospital in Enniscorthy and use it for providing a centre for third level education, a centre for second level education and developing the hospital as a training centre for apprenticeships; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy may be aware, there is a requirement for accommodation to meet broad educational needs in the Enniscorthy area. Officials in my Department have engaged with officials in the Local Authority, officials in Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board and with other stakeholders in this regard.

The former St. Senan's Hospital property has been identified as one of a number of options to be assessed in the context of educational requirements. The potential future use of that property forms part of that appraisal process.

Question No. 181 answered with Question No. 161.
