278. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to outline the extent to which his Department monitors the rail and bus services in County Kildare with a view to ensuring the needs of commuters are met to the greatest extent possible; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issue raised is a matter for Iarnród Éireann and the National Transport Authority (NTA) and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to both the company and the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive responses within ten working days.
