219. Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the reason a person (details supplied) in County Galway did not qualify for the young farmers scheme; the reason for refusal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6509/17]

The person named submitted an application under the 2016 Young Farmers Scheme to my Department. The application received was successful and payment under the 2016 Young Farmers Scheme issued on 3 February 2017.
