Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government when a decision will be made on an application for final approval on funding for a local authority house to be built by Galway County Council for persons (details supplied) in County Galway; if urgent approval will be given to this funding in view of the housing need involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has recently received a Stage 4 submission from Galway County Council in relation to the construction of the dwelling referred to in the question. This submission is currently being assessed by my Department and I expect that a recommendation will issue to Galway County Council shortly.
