Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality further to Parliamentary Question No. 87 of 7 December 2016, the status of this issue; the status of progress in the drafting of the Intoxicating Liquor (Amendment) Bill 2017; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The position in relation to the Sale of Alcohol Bill has not changed since my response to the parliamentary question referred to by the Deputy on 7 December 2016. The text of the Intoxicating Liquor (Amendment) Bill 2017, which is a Seanad Private Members' Bill, is being examined in my Department.
