209. Deputy Mattie McGrath asked the Minister for Finance the number of income taxpayers; the total income and total tax paid across the earnings and income tax bands based on the most recent information that is available; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16588/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am advised by Revenue that Income Tax statistics are available on the Revenue Statistics webpage located at www.revenue.ie/en/about/statistics/income-tax.html. These tables show for 2014 (the latest year for which data are presently available) the number, the total gross income and tax paid across exempt, standard and higher rate income tax bands as requested by the Deputy. The tables additionally provides a breakdown of the distribution of the number of income earners, the total taxable income and tax, by tax band for married, single and widowed income tax cases. Updates for 2015 will be available in the coming months.
