428. Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs her plans to commemorate the anniversary of the death of Thomas Ashe in 2017; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [16214/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Government is continuing to mark significant events throughout the Decade of Centenaries and is being guided by the Expert Advisory Group on Commemorations in this regard. The commemorative programme for the second half of the Decade will be based on the inclusive, open and consultative approach that worked so well last year. As part of this process, consideration is currently being given to how the centenary of the death of Thomas Ashe might be appropriately marked later this year.
