Deputy Brendan Griffin asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the average waiting time for the processing of herd number applications; if his Department has a statutory timeframe for the processing of these applications; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe length of time required to process an individual application is contingent on a number of factors such as the timely response of the applicant in providing the required documentation and proof that the applicant is entitled to use the lands that are the subject of the herd number application. Under normal circumstances, the average waiting period from the time of receipt of the application to the allocation of a herd number is approximately three weeks.
