1245. Deputy Eamon Scanlon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the position regarding a 2014 appeal by a person (details supplied) under the single payment scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20605/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraAn application in respect of the 2013 Single Payment Scheme (SPS) was received from the person named on 30 April 2013. During processing, over claims were identified on six of the parcels declared. The area over-claimed was 2.26Ha. This was more than 3% of the area determined (73.76Ha) and was greater than 2 hectares. Therefore, in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the SPS a penalty was applied.
The person named availed of his right to appeal. A review was carried out and while the determined area increased to 74 ha, the area over-claimed was 2.02 Ha and a penalty continued to apply. As payment had issued in respect of an area of 73.76, supplementary payments were made to reflect the increase in determined area to 74 hectares.
My Department will undertake a complete review of the 2013 and 2014 BPS applications of the above named and he will be informed of the outcome in the near future.
