Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he is satisfied with the accuracy of equipment provided (details supplied) in order to carry out roadside drug tests; and if he has had discussions on these matters with either the Garda Commissioner or the Road Safety Authority. Amharc ar fhreagraStatutory responsibility for testing, approval, and supply of devices for conducting preliminary drug tests under the Road Traffic Acts rests with the Medical Bureau of Road Safety. I have therefore referred the Question to the Bureau for direct response. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a reply has not been received within ten days.
