166. Deputy Michael Collins asked the Minister for Education and Skills if the British construction plant competence scheme is recognised here; if not, the reason therefor; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22010/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraSOLAS and the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) have an agreement in place to facilitate people who hold a valid Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) Plant Operator's Card to acquire the equivalent SOLAS Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Plant Operator Card.
To avail of this arrangement applicants must:
- hold a valid CPCS Plant Registration Card;
- have met all the CPCS entry requirements including NVQ/SVQ certification; and
- hold a valid SOLAS Safe Pass Registration Card.
