637. Deputy Robert Troy asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if his Department or a body under its aegis have undertaken research on the cost base of Irish tourism hospitality businesses compared to European competitors. [22070/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraI refer the Deputy to the "Costs of Doing Business" reports published by the National Competitiveness Council, coming under the remit of the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation. While neither my Department nor Fáilte Ireland has undertaken research specific to the cost base of tourism and hospitality businesses, I would highlight that the cost base of Irish tourism and hospitality businesses would be similar to that of small and medium enterprises generally.
