2238. Deputy Marcella Corcoran Kennedy asked the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government if he will address a matter (details supplied) regarding vehicle payload classification; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28293/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraRegarding the vehicle in question, while it appears that two differing weights have been recorded on the National Vehicle and Driver File in respect of the technically permissible laden mass of the vehicle, following roadworthiness testing, there is a single motor caravan motor tax rate of €102 annually, regardless of the weight of the vehicle. Vehicle testing is a matter for the Road Safety Authority.
