Deputy Sean Fleming asked the Minister for Finance if all State bodies under the aegis of his Department have furnished a report confirming the State body has complied with its obligations under tax law for 2015 and 2016 as required under the code of practice for the governance of State bodies; the action which was taken regarding those bodies that did not submit such requests; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraIn response to the Deputy's question, there are eighteen bodies under the aegis of my Department of which I am advised that eleven are designated as State Bodies for the purpose of the 2016 Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies. With respect to these eleven bodies, please see the information requested in the following table:

The Tax Appeals Commission (TAC) was established in 2016 and there has been significant progress made during the transition period in terms of its governance arrangements. It has recently published its annual report and has submitted its appropriation accounts as required. It has also published its governance arrangements on its website. Consistent with the governance arrangements for bodies under the aegis of the Department of Finance, a liaison group has been established between the Department and the TAC and the first meeting took place in April 2017 with the second meeting due to take place later this week. |
