947. Deputy Willie Penrose asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the discussions her Department has had with the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport regarding the upgrading of the N4 west of Mullingar to facilitate regional development; and if she will make a statement on the matter. While officials from my Department met with Sligo County Council and their consultants at pre-planning stage in November 2016 to discuss matters in relation to the proposed development, I am not aware of any meeting having been sought by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport.
