159. Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the amount spent by his Department and State agencies under his aegis on outside contract or third-party public relations advice and training in past three years to date in 2017 by year and company engaged, in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In response to the Deputy’s question, the following tables outline the amount spent in the areas in question by my Department and the bodies under its aegis over the past three years.

Department of Public Expenditure and Reform

The costs incurred over the period were for training undertaken by staff in the Press Offices.

Public Appointments Service

The costs incurred were for advice on publicity for recruitment campaigns and promotional campaigns for stateboards.ie and other communications advice as required.

Office of Public Works

The costs incurred were for public relations work relating to the National Catchment Flood Risk Assessment and Management, Castletown House and Demesne, Casino Marino and Dublin Castle.
