423. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade his views on a forthcoming referendum on independence in Kurdistan; if he is supportive of autonomy and independence for the persons of Kurdistan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [36454/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am aware of the referendum on independence announced last month by the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government. Ireland continues to support the territorial integrity of Iraq and does not propose to intervene in internal constitutional matters of Iraq, which are for decision by the Iraqi people and their democratically elected leaders.
