690. Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if she will address a matter (details supplied) regarding the number of seals in an area; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [36806/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraAlthough seals are protected under the Wildlife Acts, there are provisions for a licence to be issued to prevent individual seals damaging fishing nets. I understand that officials of my Department have recently had discussions about such a licence with fishermen in the affected area.
