462. Deputy Imelda Munster asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the estimated cost of upgrading signalling centres on the rail network; his plans to replace signalling centres in 2017 and 2018; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [43389/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraIarnród Éireann has responsibility for the maintenance and operation of the heavy rail network. My Department provides capital funding to Iarnród Éireann for the maintenance and renewal of the network under the Infrastructure Manager Multi-Annual Contract (IMMAC), in accordance with the requirements of EU law. The company also receives capital funding, via the National Transport Authority, for heavy rail projects in the Greater Dublin Area and under the Regional Cities Programme.
