185. Deputy Fergus O'Dowd asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade to outline the way in which his Department responded to the declaration of the status red alert weather warning in respect of departmental employees; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [47929/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe offices of my Department in Ireland, including Passport Offices, remained closed on 16 October and staff were advised not to travel unless absolutely necessary. My Department provided a consular and passport duty officer service to the public for matters requiring urgent attention on that day. Staff and members of the public were informed via social media channels and the Department’s website, as well as in a number of cases by telephone and text messages.
