Deputy Charlie McConalogue asked the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the status of a carer's benefit application by a person (details supplied); if this appointment will be expedited in view of the particular circumstances in this case; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraI confirm that my Department received an application for carer’s benefit from the person concerned on 19 October 2017.
Additional information was requested from the person concerned on 2 December 2017. Once the information is received the application will be processed without delay and he will be notified directly of the outcome.
I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
