Ceisteanna (516)

Anne Rabbitte

Ceist:

516. Deputy Anne Rabbitte asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs the number of non-EEA children currently in the care of the State; and the number of non-EEA children who were in the care of the State in each of the years 2008 to 2017. [11304/18]

Tusla, the Child and Family, operate under the principle of equity of care, and do not make a distinction between EEA and non-EEA citizens when providing care. All children and families resident in Ireland are entitled to the same level of care from Tusla.

The figures to which the Deputy refers are not collated in the monthly performance data or quarterly reports which Tusla provide to me.

I have requested the information from Tusla, and will revert to the Deputy in due course.
