Deputy Imelda Munster asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the cost, since 2011 to date, of outside consultants used by the National Transport Authority, NTA, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, TII, and other relevant organisations in the planning of the proposed MetroLink project. Amharc ar fhreagraAs Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. The National Transport Authority (NTA) has statutory responsibility for the development and implementation of public transport in the Greater Dublin Area including the development of a metro scheme.
The recently published National Development Plan (NDP), which was launched earlier this year by Government as part of Project Ireland 2040, brings together the Metro North and Metro South projects, as envisaged by the NTA’s Transport Strategy for the Greater Dublin Area 2016 - 2035, into one project called MetroLink.
