2284. Deputy Willie Penrose asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the identification requirement for a person who wishes to renew their Irish licence online who is abroad; if a public services card is required; the identification required in this instance; and if he will make a statement on the matter. This is an operational matter for the Road Safety Authority, which has statutory responsibility for the National Driver Licensing Service.  I have therefore referred the Question to the Authority for direct reply.  I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.

A referred reply was forwarded to the Deputy under Standing Order 42A.
