Broughan asked the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the estimated cost of increasing the income disregard for the one parent family payment and jobseeker's transitional payment to €146.50 per week; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Based on the current customers income on one parent family payments and jobseekers transition the estimated cost of increasing the income disregard for the one-parent family payment and jobseeker's transitional payment from €130.00 to €146.50 per week is in the region of €5.5 to €6 million per year.
