Deputy Niamh Smyth asked the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the festivals and summer schools that were awarded funding under the recent allocation of €76,000 to support small scale local festivals and summer schools; the areas in which the events take place; the amount of funding awarded to each festival and summer school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe Small Scale Local Festivals and Summer Schools Scheme is designed to assist local cultural events which may not be eligible under funding criteria for larger scale events, such as those supported by Fáilte Ireland, the Arts Council and similar bodies. The closing date for applications was the 18th May 2018. Funding was allocated following a competitive applications process, with a maximum grant of €5,000 available per applicant.
