Deputy Joan Burton asked the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government if his Department has assessed the nature of the delays being experienced in respect of local authorities signing contracts with developers for Part V properties for social housing; and the measures he plans to implement to expedite same. Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department keeps the January 2017 Guidelines on Part V of the Planning and Development Act 2000 under review, in consultation with local authorities and other stakeholders.
My Department is in contact with housing authorities in relation to whether there are any delays in signing contracts for new build homes pursuant to Part V agreements. The responses received will be examined to identify whether any process improvements are required in relation to Part V, so that delivery can continue to be achieved as speedily as possible.
