423. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the estimated amount it would cost in a full year if the PSO levy to CIÉ increased by 12.5%; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [38668/18]
Amharc ar fhreagraSince 2010, Public Service Obligation, PSO, subvention is no longer paid by my Department to transport operators. The award and subvention of PSO contracts now falls under the independent statutory remit of the National Transport Authority, NTA, which has direct responsibility for this area along with the routes covered. I have therefore forwarded the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
