390. Deputy Eamon Ryan asked the Minister for Health if the drug osimertinib will be made available to persons with EGFR-positive non-small cell lung cancer; the cost-benefit analysis undertaken regarding the provision of the drug; and the reason it is not available here in view of the fact that it is widely available across the EU. Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for the pricing and reimbursement of the community drug schemes; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
