667. Deputy Eoin Ó Broin asked the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government the rationale of programme expenditure F, appropriations-in -aid, as detailed on page 209 of the budget 2019 expenditure report.; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [42299/18]
Amharc ar fhreagraAppropriations-in-aid are receipts arising in the normal course of a Department's business which, in accordance with public financial procedures, may be retained by the Department to meet the cost of voted expenditure instead of being paid directly into the Exchequer. These include, in the case of my Department in 2019, items such as pension-related deductions from remuneration, amounts payable to Met Éireann in respect of the provision of services to aviation, and receipts arising from EU co-financed programmes.
