101. Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if a protected disclosure made to him has been concluded with respect to the Irish Prison Service (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [46341/18]
Amharc ar fhreagraI can inform the Deputy that anonymous correspondence was received in my Department regarding an allegation in the Irish Prison Service. This matter was dealt with in accordance with the Protected Disclosures Policy and my Department engaged an independent legal firm to carry out an investigation. I understand this will be finalised in the near future. As the matter is being treated as a protected disclosure it would not be appropriate for me to comment on the individual case.
