Deputy Charlie McConalogue asked the Minister for Education and Skills the status of a new building for the relocation of a school (details supplied); the funding that has been allocated for this project; the estimated completion date for the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraI am pleased to inform the Deputy that funding was approved for a new 4- classroom building for the school to which he refers in June of this year.
The project has been devolved for delivery to the school authority so it is now a matter for the Board of Management to advance the design and construction work. As the project is in the very early stages of architectural planning it is not possible at this time to say when the project will be completed. With regard to the funding allocated, this is commercially sensitive until the tender process for a contractor for the project has been completed.
