275. Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht her plans to make a bird sanctuary out of an area (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2161/19]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe area in question is designated as a Special Protection Area designated under the EU Birds Directive and a Special Area of Conservation designated under the EU Habitats Directive and benefits from a range of measures aimed at the protection and conservation of species and habitats.There are no immediate plans in my Department to designate the area in question as a wildfowl sanctuary under the Wildlife Acts.
