I apologise for the ongoing delay in issuing a response to Question No. 241 of 3 July 2018, however, as you know, such data is not held by my Department.

I have, again, requested an urgent response from An Garda Síochána and my officials will forward this information to you directly, as soon as it is received.

The following deferred reply was received under Standing Order 42A
I refer to Parliamentary Question No. 241 of 3 July 2018 in which the Deputy asked for the number of vehicles seized for having no tax in R-District. I apologise for the considerable delay in responding, and regret that a second Parliamentary Question No.539 of 26 March 2019, was required. However, the Garda report, requested in July, is now to hand.
I am informed by An Garda Síochána, that while statistics on vehicle seizures under section 41(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1994 (as amended) are available on PULSE, they are not compiled in such a way that easily allows for the disaggregation into specific offences (i.e. no tax, no NCT, no licence etc.). The following table provides a breakdown of the number of vehicles seized in R-District since 2017. Please note, these figures are provisional and subject to change.
