Deputy Brendan Griffin asked the Minister for Education and Skills the reason adult education tutors working for Education and Training Boards, ETBs, are not recognised as teachers despite having teaching qualifications and Teaching Council registration; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The matter of regularisation of the terms and conditions of Adult Education Tutors is currently subject to discussions under the auspices of the Workplace Relations Commission so it would be inappropriate to comment on this matter at this time.
