Broughan asked the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government further to Parliamentary Question No. 588 of 11 December 2018, if the relevant statutory committee appointments by him will be subject to public advertisement; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe processes for the appointment of members to the Professional Conduct Committee and Appeals Board of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) are set out under sections 23 and 24 of the Building Control Act 2007.
In accordance with provisions of the Act, I made the relevant statutory committee appointments and nominations earlier this year. These appointments and nominations are to bodies that do not fall under the aegis of my Department and are not funded by my Department, and therefore do not fall within the state boards process, operated through www.stateboards.ie.
