251. Deputy Jan O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if a review will be carried out of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Act 2017 in view of the fact that the intention to review the operation of the Act was indicated during its passage through Dáil Éireann and more than two years after its passage (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. Part 4 of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Act 2017 specifies that, not later than 3 years after its commencement, a Report will be prepared on the number of arrests and convictions in respect of the new offences, as well as an assessment of the impact on the welfare of those who provide sexual services for payment.

A review will be conducted within the next twelve months and, as part of this, my Department will be seeking submissions from interested parties for consideration.
