603. Deputy Kathleen Funchion asked the Minister for Education and Skills the estimated cost of ensuring that future school builds being constructed at present or which are in the planning stages include autism friendly playgrounds. [33886/19]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Department currently provides funding with SEN Bases to provide a 100m² sensory play garden and 200m² secure and hard soft play area. An allowance is granted towards this provision which is subject to adjustment based on the specific site conditions. As the costs are site and school specific, it is not possible to give a cost of the provision as requested by the Deputy.
