Amharc ar fhreagraIn my capacity as Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, I have not yet had the opportunity to visit Sydney or meet formally with the Consul General who took up duty in September 2018. However, the Consul General has welcomed many official visitors to Sydney and he participated in the “Global Ireland” Conference in Dublin last January when I gave the inaugural address. The Consul General is in daily contact with the Department, for example in relation to the recent wildfires, and I greatly appreciate his work and the work of our Consulate in Sydney, together with our Embassy in Canberra.
