15. Deputy Martin Heydon asked the Taoiseach and Minister for Defence the status of progress on plans for a peace and leadership institute on the Curragh Camp, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8082/20]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe White Paper on Defence includes a commitment to evaluate the potential development of a new Institute for Peace Support and Leadership Training at the Defence Forces Training Centre in the Curragh, and in this regard a formal feasibility study was undertaken. An interim report was presented to the project steering group in November 2018. A draft final report is currently under consideration however current circumstances have delayed progress in this regard. It is expected that the report will be finalised later in the year and this will inform the next steps to be taken.
