204. Deputy Marian Harkin asked the Minister for Education and Skills if consideration will be given to the supply and installation of antibacterial and anti-viral door handles in schools; and his plans to install air purification systems in schools. [7692/20]
Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department is aware of the products referred to by the Deputy. That schools can operate in a safe manner that is consistent with public health advice will underpin any consideration of the matter. This must be balanced against overall resource constraints and other competing demands in the education sector, whilst also ensuring that solutions will not place an undue burden of ongoing operation and maintenance requirements on schools.
