Ceisteanna (610)

Matt Carthy

610. Deputy Matt Carthy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the body that will have responsibility for conducting a national land use review; the estimated timeframe to conduct such a review; the estimated cost of such a review; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has already commenced work on land use mapping as part of a collaborative project with a number of other government agencies, leveraging the expertise available in each agency to assure the highest quality information is available for policy makers. It is expected that this work will continue into at least the medium term.

At this point, it is difficult to forecast accurate costings relating to the review as these will be heavily dependent on its final structure, the process adopted, and the delivery model that is used to inform policy decisions in the future.
