356. Deputy Patricia Ryan asked the Minister for Defence the status of the disposal of lands at Magee Barracks, Kildare town; his plans to develop the site; the details of the promised give back to the local community; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16947/20]
Amharc ar fhreagraIn 2013, part of the Magee Barracks site was acquired by the Department of Education and Skills for the purposes of providing new school provision for the community. Subsequently, the remaining aspect of the site was sold by pubic action in 2016. The future development of the site is now a matter between the site owners and the relevant planning authorities. My Department has no further role in this matter.
