238. Deputy Jennifer Whitmore asked the Minister for Education if the extension planned for a school (details supplied) will include a special class unit in view of the requirement to include special class units when an extension is proposed for primary and secondary schools; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The project at the school referred to by the Deputy which commenced on site in mid October does not included the provision of a special class unit.

It is intended that the demand for special class provision in the area will be met within the new post primary school in the same town that was established in September 2020.
